Joe and Juanita Smith developed the ideas that make Hilltop House the warm and loving facility it is today. Their 42 years of business experience, love of family, and talents in the kitchen come together to give Hilltop House the special atmosphere that residents, over the years, have come to know, trust, and love. Our home is a place where anyone can sense the quality of care in this family owned and operated facility.

Realizing that an Assisted Living is nothing without a caring atmosphere, Joe and Juanita designed Hilltop House to be a resident-oriented home. The original Hilltop House opened in 1985 with three beds. Since then, we have added three additional wings and a three story apartment building. We are now licensed for ninety-one residents.

A graduate of Radford, Joe and Juanita's son, Scott, brings a good sense of business organization to Hilltop House, where he serves as Administrator. Their daughter Mitzi, also a Radford graduate serves a kitchen manager preparing delicious and nutritious home cooked meals. Scott's wife, Lisa, serves as the Marketing Director, and is responsible for admissions. She is very involved with our residents and their families. Residents and their families can bring their concerns to the Smith family anytime. They are available and understanding, and they want the family love at Hilltop House to include both the residents as well as their families.
